A Promising Beginning
In 2011, we met a young girl we will call her Rose, around three years old, at one of our care centres. From the moment we met her, it was clear she was precious.
Finding Sanctuary
Rose’s early life was difficult. With limited family support, she often relied on the kindness of elderly women in her community who were already caring for children in need. The care centre became her sanctuary — a place where she could feel safe, learn, laugh, and dream.

Overcoming Challenges
When Mayenjane Children’s Home opened, we faced many challenges that prevented her from joining us. Despite this, we never gave up on her and we continued to support her schooling, her caregivers, and her development.
A Bright Future
Today, Rose is thriving in primary school, growing with confidence, skills, and hope for the future.
(Takeaway) Rose’s story embodies our mission: Building Hope, Changing Lives.
